Report for Indian Cumin Seeds New Crop 2015

By Virdhara International

January 09, 2015

Usually Cumin Seed is sown during beginning of November every year, but due to global warming and climatic changes winter season was late by 1 month in India which affected Cumin sowing and total sowing completed which is expected to be less than 30% than last year. Last year (2014) total cumin crop production in India was around 4.4 lakhs metric ton which kept prices at average levels.

Global consumption of Cumin Seeds was dependent on India from last 2 years because Indians were providing best quality, competitive rates and timely shipments even though market fluctuated. This helped to boost international demand and exports of Indian Cumin Seeds with good faith. This trend is expected to continue for present year also. If international demand of Indian Cumin Seeds remains at very good levels as previous 2 years then prices are not expected to go down further than current rates.
